Love the Log Cabin Table Runner

I love the log cabin, so when I saw a class for the Love The Log Cabin table runner from the Eleanor Burns' newest book, Still Stripping After 25 Years, I immediately signed up. It was a one-day class, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and I was working the night before until midnight so I wasn't sure how productive I'd be. It was a long day, but amazingly enough, I got the whole thing done except for hand-sewing the binding, which I finished the next day. The curve of the heart is appliqued on, but the center of the heart is an abbreviated log cabin square. I had a little trouble getting the curves matched up properly with the square, and one of them is about 1/8 of an inch off, but it came out pretty well, I thought. :) And it was perfect timing -- the week before Valentine's Day 2004.

(And no, it's going to stay on the hall cabinet Scott made, covering up its gorgeous quilted maple top.)
