Unfortunately, it seems to be the way of the world that not all projects get finished in a timely manner. Sometimes they sit in the UFO (unfinished object) pile for awhile, awaiting the inspiration needed to complete them. I've got a few that fit into that category.
I took an applique class at StoryQuilts, a local quilt shop, in 2002. Unfortunately, it was one of those classes where you learn the skills needed to do a project, but you don't actually do the project in class. I don't do as well with those kinds of classes. I managed to do the applique on my own, and I'm mostly satisfied with how it came out, although the eyes could use some work. But now I have to figure out what to do with the square. It's probably eventually going to become a pillow. It's made primarily from three fat quarters I'd picked up and been waiting to use for something. The background fabric is a beautiful batik I bought specifically for this project.
